Hope. In the face of it all, hope. #humanism

In light of "recent" events -- some of these events aren't recent -- I find myself really thinking hard about this one word - HOPE. It's a theme I, most times subconciously, grabble with in my work. I looked up the word and got countless definitions that amounted to basically the same thing... Hope is a kind of want.

Hope (click for dictionary definitions):

(I've selected a few to share below)

- a feeling of expectation and desire for a certain thing to happen.

- to look forward to with desire and reasonable confidence.

- to cherish a desire with anticipation.

- to want and expect something to happen or be true.

How one holds on to hope in the face of adversity... loss, grief, poverty, illness, you name it, is a phenomenon that I believe cannot be fully described with words (and I love words); and though a picture is said to be worth a thousand of those, it too cannot fully express that human "thing" that allows one to hope against hope.

So, if you will, please join me in creating a collage in honor of that "thing" that allows us to hope.

I thank you, in advance, for sharing what hope means to you.
