The header image was inspired by the view outside my window on a recent flight from New York. I looked out my window and saw the reflection of our plane enveloped in a circular rainbow as we flew along this voluminous stretch of cloud. It was surreal, and soothing. I know the norm would've been to take a photo of it, but I find I am not someone who does that often. Maybe I like living in the moment, or maybe I like the way my brain chooses to remember the experience..., who knows. Anyway, I created this sketch based on the way my brain chose to remember the moment, and I like it😊

So, HOPE.

I was going through my journal today and came across an entry I made on 1/22/25. I'll share it here:

I'm thankful that I can have the kinds of conversations I have with Bobby (my husband), thankful for this music (I'm listening to as I write this). Thankful for my surgeons, Dr. Barcarse and Dr. Moon. Thankful for their kind hearts, for their skilled minds and hands and for your guidance, God, of those kind hearts and skilled minds and hands. Thankful for that, so much.

When I think of my life up till now, yes, I do feel very sad and ashamed and full of regret. However, as much as I feel hope can be so cruel, evil even, because of the pain it nonchalantly ushers into existence, it is hope; it is what keeps us going. So, with your help, dear God, Universe, Guide..., I'll hope for a fulfilling life.

Seeing that post about (the film production of) "Children of Blood and Bone" hurt. But it's not my work to put out there. And I am so glad to see it's being made. And the cast! Wow👏🏿😊

Anywho...

I'll hope.

Yes,

But for other things.

For love to overcome hate,

And light to lift its dark gates.

For cats to grow wings,

And Children dream

Of worlds unseen,

Where laughter mends sorrow,

And hope fills tomorrow.

Oh, Hope.
